The Stallings Family, an old sofa, and a field…

I ran a contest this past week, kind of like the radio stations “9th caller” thing. The third person to comment on my Facebook page won a family session for today! Mandie Stallings had just left the studio from picking up her daughter MacKenzie’s 3 month images, and got home just in time to be the third person! We wanted to do something a little out of the norm, so we took my antique sofa to a field close by. It was threatening to storm at any time, but the rain held off just long enough to get some images. We also did some in the studio when we got back. I’ll post some of those tomorrow. For now, here’s a sample from the field…

Rose Maria

This young lady was a foster child with a family in my neighborhood. They adopted her when she was 4, because they had fallen in love with her. When I’m shooting sometimes I make a reference to the old Billy Crystal SNL quote where he says “It’s not how you feel, it’s how you look! And you look mahvalous, dahlin’!” Her Mom said Rose always says “Beauty is pain.”

She must be hurting.
