Back from SYNC!

OK, I’m back, I’m caught up on emails, phone calls, bill paying, all that jazz.

Now, let’s get to work. I have so many ideas for the studio! I’m painting the black/white wall first. That’s gonna rock for some high contrast images. Then I’m using some funky wallpaper for 2 small “headshot” background, and painting 2 more areas, a red/brown, and a burnt amber. We’re revamping the high-key (white) area. I’m also starting a signing wall in the dressing room! That’ll be cool. Um, keep it PG, OK? And I’m having a graffiti wall! Who knows how to do graffiti?

So, yeah, lots to do! This year is gonna be awesome!

St. Petersburg!

I’m here! At the beach! It’s not warm! Waahh!

It’ll be warm tomorrow they tell me. I can wait. Follow me this week as I attend SYNC, a conference designed for senior portrait photographers. I’ll post ideas, pictures, and who knows what else, as the week goes.

Stay tuned…

Thanks to all…

of you that voted for the images I wanted to put it a contest! I went to Charleston in November with about 100 or so other photographers for 3 days of seminars, fellowship, and photography. One of the items on the agenda was a model shoot, where models including brides, children, and couples were posted at “stations” in Charleston, and we were to spend about 10 minutes at each station photographing the model. Then there was a contest to be entered to see who got the number one best image from the day. Well, I wasn’t planning on doing the model shoot, instead just wanting to hang out and take it easy that afternoon. Dawn Haas was headed out to the model stations, and asked me to go with her, because she didn’t want to walk alone. So I went. I didn’t have my bag with me, so all I had was my camera, one lens, one card, and no lighting. But as long as I was there, why not shoot, right? Well, I wasn’t going to enter the contest either, but again I was prodded to do it. Well, I posted my 6 faves, you all voted, and I entered the images that got the most votes (which wasn’t my favorite), and…I WON! So thanks to everyone that voted!

Here is the image that won…
Bride on Wall

This was my favorite…
Couple in street

I won a free ShowIt Site for a year, and a canvas print from Pixel2Canvas!

I think I’ll put that winning image on that canvas!

Thanks again!
